Scott supporters come from across the political spectrum

It's now official!  Candidates had until September 21 to register for the October 18 election and I'm proud to say I'm officially official 24 hours later as the City of Edmonton declared all of the candidates on the ballot.

And I'm proud to say from all of the door-knocking I've done, the feedback from you has been positive. In fact, as you can see from the display of lawn signs, I've got broad appeal.

Four of the eleven candidates for mayor were one-time city councillors and supporters of them also endorse me.

It shows I can collaborate and work with anyone.

I've done it over my three decade career as a news reporter covering City Hall and municipal politics.

I'm proud to say I've worked with 45 different councillors, 5 mayors, and 6 city managers, from each end of the political spectrum, and every imaginable combination in between. And, I've gotten along with each and every one of them.

Over that time I established myself as a trusted voice that took the time to get the facts right.

That's what the key to getting things done at City Hall entails -- the ability to put political differences aside and to work towards a common goal.

We know that this will be one of the largest turnovers on city council since the transition a generation ago when Bill Smith defeated Jan Reimer, where seven new faces were elected.

This time there will be a minimum of four.

Should I have the honour of being elected, I vow to use my three decades of experience to hit the ground running for you.

I'll take the approach of identifying any problem, finding the root of the problem, then getting to work to find a solution.

If we haven't met on your doorstep yet, please reach out to my campaign, if you'd like a question answered, or you'd like a lawn sign, or to volunteer or make a donation

We're down to the final weeks of the campaign. Advance Voting will take place from October 4 to 13 including Thanksgiving Monday with our Ward's advanced polling station at Blue Quill Community League. Election day is October 18. Hope to see you on the campaign trail soon!
